Merika Koday, Ph.D.


Dr. Merika Koday is an Associate on the Science & Development Team at Accelerator Life Science Partners, focused on the sourcing and evaluation of emerging biotechnology investment opportunities. She also provides project management and scientific development oversight to select ALSP I portfolio companies. Prior to joining Accelerator, Dr. Koday served as Project Manager for the Program for Cell and Gene Therapy at Seattle Children’s Research Institute, where she helped to advance basic research programs into clinical development and supported industry partnerships and collaborations. Prior to her role at Seattle Children’s Research Institute, Dr. Koday was a co-founder and Senior Scientist at Virvio, a University of Washington spin- out company focused on the development of de novo designed proteins as therapeutic alternatives to monoclonal antibodies.

Dr. Koday completed her doctoral training in the laboratory of Dr. Deb Fuller at the University of Washington where she focused on developing novel vaccines and antivirals. She holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Washington and a B.S. degree in Biochemical and Chemical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines.
